Obituary of Ronald Kenneth Zinck
ZINCK, Ronald Kenneth - The family of Ronald Kenneth Zinck are deeply saddened to announce his sudden passing on September 15, 2018 in River Bourgeois. Born in Pictou on August 28, 1945, Ron was a son of the late Roland and Linnie (Chisholm) Zinck of River John. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Ferne (MacLean) Zinck; sons, Dave (Claudia), Levis, Quebec; Paul, River Bourgeois. Ron cherished his time with his 4 grandchildren, Cedric, Mila, Noah and Gail. He is also survived by brothers, John (Brenda), Abercrombie; Paul (Donna), Fall River; sister, Jane (Alan), River John; aunt, Bertha Douglas, River John and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by infant sister, Ann and daughter-in-law, Laurie. Ron worked for the Government of NS as a property assessor for 20 years before pursuing a career with HLM Realities for 25 years until his retirement 11 years ago. Ron was on the Board of Directors of the Caribou District Fire Department and a member of Pictou United Church. He took great pride in meticulously taking care of his property. He was always happiest playing cards with friends, family and a glass of wine. He and Ferne spent many an evening playing cards outside on their deck. We could not have asked for a more kind, caring, patient, hard-working husband, father and grandfather, who passed along strong family values to all of us. We will all miss him dearly. Visitation will be held from 2-4, 6-8 PM on Wednesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Service will take place 11 AM Thursday from the Pictou United Church, with Rev. Mary-Beth Moriarity officiating. Family flowers only please. If desired, donations in Ron’s memory may be made to the Caribou District Fire Department.
