Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth Hawboldt

HAWBOLDT, “Peggy” Margaret Elizabeth - 85, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Millsville, passed away unexpectedly at the Manor on September 22, 2018.  Born in Three Brooks, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Katherine (McCara) Cameron.  Peggy was a teacher and a homemaker.  She enjoyed spending time with family, baking, gardening, walking, crocheting, and was an avid reader.  Since moving to the Manor in February she embraced her new social circle, having regular games of scrabble, cards and bingo.  Peggy is survived by daughters, Patricia (Ron) Irving, Scotsburn; Esther (Pat) Trail, Sundridge; Janine (David) Watson, Brampton, Ont.; son, Jason, Millsville; daughter-in-law, Christina Hawboldt, Green Hill; grandchildren, Lisa (Johnny) Oostvogels and Christopher Irving (Brittany MacNeill); Lesley (Rickey) Kearley and Hilary Hawboldt; Johnathan, Jeremy and Tyler Trail; Kamryn and Lachlan Watson; Peyton, Kaitlyn and Emmett Hawboldt; sister-in-law, June Cameron; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, John J. and son, John L.; granddaughter, Jaymie Watson and companion, Donald Yorke; sister, Marie Murphy; brothers, McCara, George, Forman, Jim, John and Bob.  Cremation has taken place.  There will be no visitation by request of the deceased.  A graveside committal service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, in Gladstone Cemetery, Four Mile Brook with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.  Family flowers only.  Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of choice. Arrangements are under the direction of McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou.  The family extends sincere thanks to the staff at Glen Haven Manor for their compassionate care and kindness.
