There are reasons that the good book likens the Lord to a shepherd. They diligently look after the needs of their flock in a quiet thoughtful and respectful manner. They are soft-spoken when they need to be, strong when they have to be. They take care of fences, feeding, and shelter. There are some who might wonder what to say about a quiet man who farms sheep, but these are common characteristics observed from thousands of years ago that hold true today. Mr. Allan was an example of this, the real deal.
You can say that of the whole family, the way they treated their neighbors and always was welcoming and kind to us kids growing up. You learn a lot helping out on a farm, I think it helped us grow up to be who we are today.
They always made us feel like family, always welcome and Bonnie put on some amazing New Year dinners. We all look up to her like a second Mom.
I had the honor of officiating at my friend Dan’s wedding. His family continues that good legacy of which I’m certain James was proud.
I can’t really say enough good things here because truth be known I think a lot of the Allans. If I can raise my family like Bonnie and James have theirs then I’ll count that as a life accomplishment to be proud of.
James was a good man, a real good shepherd.
My love and deepest condolences go out to the Allan family.
