Judy and I were devastated to hear of Jo Ann's sudden passing, and are still mourning her loss. We looked forward to Jo Ann's regular, cheery phone calls and I can still hear her up-beat "Hi Larry," in my head, plain as day. Judy and Jo Ann would be babbling up a storm about grocery prices and everything under the sun, when she called. And there was nothing we enjoyed more than our visits to Gina, Keith and Jo Ann in Niagara Falls and Niagara on The Lake, with lots of laughs at the dinner table as we played games and reminisced.
Jo Ann had a wicked sense of humour, even at the most somber events, like a family funeral where it was all I could do to keep a straight face thanks to her whispered, witty quips about people's noses. Jo Ann was irreverent, funny and full of life, and we are going to miss her forever.

Dearest Terri, brothers John & Larry, and sister Gina, I was saddened to hear of Jo Ann's passing. Many fond memories quickly came to mind of our experiences growing up together while the family resided on Dunn Street in the Falls, and of the visits we had when passing through Pictou on our way to Cape Breton to visit with Maureen's family. Her genuine laughter could be heard in any room or gathering, her warmth with people was always obvious. Please know that our thoughts are with you at this difficult time, and memories of such a great person will live on in our hearts.

Many Sundays as I drove a truckload of mail down the quiet highway, I would call Jo Ann for a long chat, knowing full well it would result in a sore chest from laughing so much. It was so much fun to reminisce over our experiences as kids and the similarities and differences between my father and her mother, who were siblings. My wife, Kim, and I have felt close to Jo Ann and we will miss her dearly. Rest in peace, Cousin. We love you! Al and Kim Quinn

My family moved to Dunn St, I think when I was around 4 years old. Our mothers were friends. So Jo and I being 5 days apart in age grew up together. As the song goes, we climbed trees, and skinned our knees, and just spent all of our time together. We were together when she met Bo. Little did I know, that that meeting would mean Joanne would end up moving far away. We have kept in touch, not as much as we hoped, but we’re always happy to reconnect. Joanne will be greatly missed, my condolences to all who loved her.
