LANDRY, Josephine A. (Office) Pictou LANDRY, Josephine Ann (Office) It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Jo Ann on March 22, 2023 at the age of 76. Born in Niagara Falls, Jo Ann remained in Ontario until her early 20‘s when she moved to Nova Scotia. Jo Ann wore many hats in her life, but her favourite of all was being an artist. She was known for her folk-style paintings that caught the eye of many all around the world. Over the years, her art could be seen displayed in Sharon’s restaurant, Pictou Lodge Resort, The Art House, and many more. She also baked the most delicious desserts around! Jo Ann took pride in satisfying everyone’s sweet tooth. Her years as a baker at the Pictou Lodge Resort molded her into one of the best. What Jo Ann was most proud of, though, were her grandchildren. She beamed with joy anytime she had the opportunity to brag about their latest accomplishments. It was obvious to anyone who knew her that they were the apple of her eye. Jo Ann’s feisty but quirky personality is one that will not be forgotten. Her laugh was contagious and her heart was big. Though she may have ruffled some feathers along the way (haha), she lived a full life and can now be reunited with her son Lenny; both gone too soon. Jo Ann is survived by daughter, Terri; granddaughters, Naomi (Jono), Niki (Fraser), Julia; grandson, Patrick; great-grandson, Bo; brothers, Larry (Judy), John and Bill (Sue); sisters, Gina (Keith) and Joanne (Don) and special cousin Al Quinn. She was predeceased by her son Leonard Landry, Mother Helen Czifra; father, Andrew Czifra; sister, Colleen Blackwell; and brother, Tommy Sabo. An informal gathering of family and friends will take place March 27th 2023, in the Pictou United Church, 47 James Street at 3:00 pm. Donations may be made to the Nova Scotia ALS Society.
