Brenda, my deepest sympathies to you and your family.
Although I had not been in touch with Bette for a long while, she remained very much in my heart and I thought of her often over the years.
We grew up together in Pictou and continued our friendship into adulthood.
For one event in my life I will always be grateful to Bette. I was a 37 year old stay-at-home mother of seven children, when with her encouragement, determination and forcefulness she taught me (in only five days of intensive instruction) to drive a car and pass my test on my first try. This literally changed my life.
She was a remarkable lady.
