WALLER, Dorothy Durham Dorothy Belle Waller, peacefully passed away on Tuesday December 17, 2024 in the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been the youngest of eight born to the late Charles & Bessie (Gray) Graham. She was born and raised in Four Mile Brook, and met and married John William Waller, moving to live and raise a family of five together. Mother worked hard all her life and at the age of 50 went to work as a waitress for 14 years. She then spent quite a few years providing childcare to her grandchildren, which she greatly enjoyed. Dorothy was also an avid player of 45s, playing cards with her friends over the years in many schools and halls in Pictou County. She was also a member of the New Horizons Club in Pictou for many years. She is survived by her sons, David (Judy), Durham; Barry, Fort McMurray, AB; and daughter, Beverley, Durham, numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, John; daughter, Shirley; son, Eric; daughter-in-law, Peggy; and grandson, Trevor. Dorothy will be missed by many. The family wish to thank the staff at Shiretown Nursing Home for the care and love shown her. Visitation and Funeral will be held Sunday December 22nd in West River Presbyterian Church, Durham, with Visitation 2:00 – 3:00 PM, followed by Funeral at 3:00 PM, with Rev. Barb Fotheringham officiating. Burial will be in Gladstone Cemetery, Four Mile Brook. No reception as per mother’s wishes.
